Junior Leadership Training

ClimbNashville is the perfect place for our Scouts to work on teamwork, trust, and indoor wall climbing. Note that the yellow "happy" ball was a popular theme this year, even 30 feet up.

Predators Scout Night

Thanks to those Wild fans, the Shannons, we all had a great time watching hockey. Our scouts are having no trouble getting into the holiday 'cheer'....

One of the craziest things that Kevin has done is to test Mr. Peters and Mr. Edmondson's climbing/zip line tower. Followed by Adam and the rest of the scouts, I believe their favorite part was being on the destruction team.

Indian Grave Wild Cave

Thanks to Mr. Fordice and Mr. Dunn for putting together a dirty, muddy, amazing cave outing. We enjoyed having the Webelos along, enjoyed entertaining ourselves around a campfire, and really enjoyed Mr. Joseph and his bar-b-que. Thanks to all...

Space Ghosts

Paul appears possessed by fear at the thought of sleeping next to the haunted bust of a Confederate soldier. Note the cold breath of the moving statue...

Huntsville... Haunted and Spacey

Between sleeping in a haunted Train Depot, coming up with new and bizarre Civil War nursing treatments, and marching with Sergeant Carter, Huntsville had more than it's share of Weird Space...

Dauphine Island Beach Time

Connor Surfing and Kyle loses his head.

Morning on the USS ALABAMA

Aboard the USS ALABAMA

Evening on the battleship...

Aboard the USS ALABAMA

Don't let anyone tell you Troop 8 Scouts can't get their sea legs. After one night on board the battleship, our guys are obviously ready for extended duty.

Ocoee and Hiawassee Rivers - September 2007

Tyler, his Dad, and Mr. Conry enjoy the sunrise...

What did you do this weekend? You mean besides kayaking the scenic Hiawassee, whitewater rafting the Ocoee Olympic course, exploring a wild cave, hiking 10 miles around the mountain, rappelling the 50 ft cliff, and bodysurfing the rapids next to your campsite? Nothing much.

Thanks to Mr. Lahti, and all the dedicated Troop 8 adult leaders who made this amazing outing happen! More pics to come from other photographers...

Court of Honor - September 2007

With literally hundreds of merit badges to award and rank advancements of all types, the Troop also managed to work in a moving tribute to our beloved Scoutmaster.

As Papa Wilcox looked on, Brian received the National Scoutmaster Award of Merit, thank yous from each Scout, and lead a rousing encore of Boxwell's "I'm a Little Teapot."

Thanks to all the Scouts, friends, and parents who made it a special night. And THANK YOU, Mr. Wilcox!!

Entertaining the crowd as we stood in line at Six Flags...

Porcupine fish (and Troop 8 Scouts) apparently LOVE chocolate chip cookies and caffeine.

Planning mischief in the amazing critter room.
