February Ski Weekend

Paoli Peaks  let us take over for twelve hours a day and the Scouts took full advantage.  Completing the Snow Sports merit badge were a hardy group of skiiers and snowboarders.  In addition, most of our high-flying guys found ways to put their costumes and gear to the test.  Thanks to the Mathues for putting a great trip together.

Winter Lodge Campout

Standing Stone State Park was again the site of our popular Winter Camp.  Badges taught in the lodges were interspersed with archery, light rifle, shotgun skeet shooting, indian wrestling, and football.  Thanks to all the parents who traveled up to teach a merit badge!

Court of Honor Photos

The December Court of Honor was very busy with many of our Scouts achieving one (or even two) new ranks.  Proud parents got plenty of hugs and we saluted our new SPL, Ross, as we honored our past leader, Claybrook.

JLT ClimbNashville Overnighter

Troop 8 "slept" overnight at ClimbNashville on our annual Junior Leadership Training weekend.  Scouts climbed, learned to belay and support a fellow climber, and worked on PLC leadership with the help of our ASMs.

Pioneering/Mountain Biking in November

Webelos joined us for monkey bridge walking, dodgeball competitions, and competitive campfire building (an Olympic sport).  Then we jumped on mountain bikes and got lost.

Fall Camporee

The District Camporee was an opportunity for our Scouts to travel ALL the way to Tower Park, where Mr. Mathues helped us lash a rocking chair, teams competed in an orienteering course, and Troop 8's massive numbers conquered the opposition in tug-o-war.
