USS Alabama/Deep Sea Fishing - Oct 2009

Our Fall Break was quite the trip, as we spent the night again in the haunted Huntsville train station (see the marshmallow ghost rising below). After a great scavenger hunt throughout the "beautiful" state of Alabama (see Lance and his catch below), we then spent the night in the marine quarters of the USS Alabama battleship. Not quite finished with the Gulf, we then tried to catch every spanish and king mackerel off the coast of Mobile. Every scout caught fish, most cleaned them, but everyone's invited to the fish fry!

Fall Cub-n-Family - Oct 2009

Troop 8 Scouts served as a model camping troop and helped teach the Webelos of Area One in Geology, Forestry, and Naturalist. Then they almost burned down Cubworld with their bonfire...

Ocoee - Sept 2009

It's tough to pack more into a weekend in Tennessee: rafting the Upper and Middle Ocoee, kayaking the Hiawassee, falling gracefully down a bluff using a thin rope (sometimes upside down), hiking the John Muir trail, and fishing the swift current near the campsite. Oh, and we can't forget sausage at dawn...

Atlanta City Trip - August 2009

The troop camped at the local BSA camp but enjoyed a wide variety of sights and sounds in Atlanta. We enjoyed the sharks and meeting Dora at the aquarium, watched the Braves beat the Dodgers, cruised through the CNN center, and rode Goliath at Six Flags.
